You can write to persecuted Christians today. Letter writing is an effective way of directly reaching our brothers and sisters who are imprisoned because of their Christian witness.
When VOM asked Pastor Shi Weihan's daughter Lily if the letters really mattered to their family, especially since they couldn't read English, she said, "One drop of rain probably doesn't make any difference, but all together they make a storm. And that will probably make a difference."
"Just hearing that people sent us letters was a great encouragement to us," said Maryam and Marzieh, two young Christians who were imprisoned in Iran. "We heard from our guards that forty to fifty letters were coming every day. This was something that gave us hope."
And "Boun", a Southeast Asian man who spent 12 years in prison for his faith, told us the letters he received made him joyful because he knew he was not forgotten. His face still shines when he speaks about the letters.
Each kit includes eight prisoner profiles and eight self-mailers to help you write letters to imprisoned believers. Get your youth group, Sunday school class or whole church involved! Or make it a family or small-group project and write a letter to a prisoner weekly. Purchase a pack of 5, 10, 20, 50 or 100.
